Sports Broadcasting

Overview

The Sports Broadcasting program at Spark Silicon Valley provides students with the opportunity to engage in live sports commentary, production, and analysis while developing real-world media skills. This program is not affiliated with any specific school, allowing flexibility for students from different backgrounds to participate. Through San Jose Fury, students learn the strategies and enhance their understanding of their chosen sport.

Program Details

  • What Students Learn: Sports journalism, on-air commentary, camera operation, and production techniques.

  • Program Structure: Hands-on coverage of school sports events with training in editing and live streaming. Through San Jose Fury, students gain firsthand experience by playing the sports they broadcast on.

  • Who Can Participate: Middle and high school students interested in sports media.

The San Jose Fury Basketball Club is a youth program of Spark! Silicon Valley, a registered 501(c)(3). We pride ourselves on our club, coaches and members being part of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), one of the largest sports organizations in the country. San Jose Fury Basketball Club aims to provide players elite training and meaningful experiences that will develop confidence, courage, and commitment as it relates to the game of basketball and the game of life.

Our Program

We currently only offer girls AAU teams that range from 7th grade to high school. Our priority is fundamental skill development, understanding of basketball play, and progression through competition.
